We Took the Afternoon Off

Some teams build up camaraderie with ropes courses and afterwork shindigs. Not us.

We build it by watching beer ferment.

Recently, we shut down for the afternoon to get a behind the scenes tour of one of Maine’s favorite breweries, Allagash. Rob Tod’s creation is celebrating its 20th anniversary and in that time, Allagash White has become one of the most beloved beers on the east coast. Part inspiration, part Maine history, it was a great way to see how Portland has grown up.

Some of us sampled. Some drank water. Regardless, the brewery’s barrel room was pretty stunning. Some have been aging for 6+ years. It’s a reminder of how patience sometimes pays off.

Thanks to Sully from Nappi and Margaret from The Snug for hooking us up.
